“Pre-diabetes” is when your blood glucose (sugar) levels are above the normal range, but not high enough for you to be diagnosed as having diabetes. If your blood sugar levels are consistently higher than normal then you may be at risk of Type 2 diabetes.
The diagnosis for Type 2 Diabetes is life changing. If you been told you are pre-diabetic and are at risk of developing Type 2 Diabetes, then what you have been given is a warning sign.
The good news is you still have the opportunity to delay or even prevent the onset of Type 2 Diabetes. If you would like to know more, then our course can help.
The Pre Diabetes Course
You will be invited to attend a nine month course which will include attending a weekly session for the first six weeks. After six weeks, the sessions will be monthly.
Each session will last approximately an hour and a half and take place at your local GP practice or at a community venue close to where you live. Times and dates will be varied to meet your needs – this can include evenings and weekends.
The sessions will be interactive, practical and as fun as you want to make them! You will be equipped with skills, information and tools to help and assist you with the following:
- Healthy Eating
- Weight Management
- Engaging in Physical Activity
- Self Management
- Staying motivated
